Jasen de Silva a.k.a. Texturemap, was Born in Los Angeles in 1971 to Swedish & Mexican parents. He worked as a fashion and graphic designer until uncovering a growing Underground dance scene in the summer of 1987. Immediately finding his place he began to dj ambient music and organize Renegade dance parties, helping to promote and manage local DJs and the growing electronic dance culture. In 1992 Jasen moved to Amsterdam and began working with techno label Input Records. promoting underground techno and psytrance events around Europe. He teamed up with local squatters In 1997 and occupied what came to be the famous E.L.F Squat in Amsterdam. It soon became home to the growing psytrance movement providing studio access and living space to some of the greatest talents in trance. From its crowded dancefloors and behind its decks came stars like brothers Shanti, Riktam (G.M.S) and Poli, and thier mother label Spun Records. Jasen soon found himself djing all around Europe, Russia, Mexico and the United States and became known for his fresh and underground sound. In 1999 he moved back to LA and became a resident DJ at the first Green Sector gatherings in the Deserts, Forests, and Beaches of Southern California. In 2001 he moved to Mexico where he lived for 6 years organizing world music events. He now travels between Europe and LA helping to push the boundries of an evolving scene. To this day he surprises dance floors with his exceptional selection and seasoned mixing skills.
